Technical characteristics of hydraulic system

As a transmission technology, hydraulic system has its outstanding advantages:


1. It can generate a lot of force and is easy to control.


The hydraulic oil with very high pressure (20~30MPa) can be easily obtained with a pump, and a large force can be generated after the pressure oil is fed into the hydraulic cylinder. For example, if the cylinder diameter is 30CM and the pressure is 20MPa, the force generated by the cylinder can reach 1413KN. The reason why hydraulic technology is widely used in presses, die-casting machines, and injection molding machines is that such large forces can be easily obtained.


2. It can stepless speed regulation in a wide range.


The flow rate supplied to the hydraulic motor or hydraulic cylinder can be adjusted steplessly with the control valve, and the speed of its rotation or linear motion can be controlled at will.


3. It is easy to prevent overload and has high safety.


Mechanical equipment is very dangerous if it is subjected to loads above the allowable limits. The use of safety valves (relief valves) in the hydraulic system can easily prevent overloading and ensure safety even in situations where unexpected load fluctuations such as construction machinery may occur.


4. The size is small and the output is large, and the installation position can be freely selected.


No matter where the control valve and actuator are installed, it is enough to connect the pipe or hose, so there is a lot of freedom in design. This comes into play in industrial vehicles, machine tools, etc., which must reduce weight, increase power density, and make the most of space.


5. The adjustment of the output force is simple and accurate, and it can be controlled remotely.


If a pressure control valve is used to control the pressure, it is easy to control the output force of the actuator. If a proportional solenoid valve is used, the pressure can also be controlled by an electrical signal, thereby realizing remote control. However, hydraulic technology also has its own shortcomings. We must understand it and take precautions in future applications.
